Machine Operator (full-time)

The Machine Operator will operate and troubleshoot the Air Separation Plant. The work must be safe and efficient. All work must follow company procedures, processes, and regulatory requirements.

The process technician will use knowledge of air separation and cryogenic processes. The role requires teamwork. Team members will set priorities and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Successful candidates must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.

  • Operate, monitor, and inspect plant equipment and processes.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
  • Use troubleshooting skills to identify, investigate, and resolve process and equipment issues.
  • Work with advanced control systems, including electronic, pneumatic, and programmable logic controller technologies.
  • Support plant performance.
  • Assist with maintenance activities, equipment upgrades, and plant turnarounds.
  • Help maximize operational reliability.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve productivity, efficiency, and equipment performance.
  • Safely operate and assess critical equipment, including pumps, motors, and compressors.
  • Work with contractors, customers, visitors, and team members in a professional manner.
  • Support operational excellence.
  • Follow operational procedures and promote safety best practices at all times.

What Makes You Great*

  • Hold a valid Fourth Class Power Engineering certification.
  • Have relevant industrial operations experience.
  • Have 3 to 5 years of experience in a continuous 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week process operations environment.
  • Work well in a fast-paced setting.
  • Manage multiple priorities with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
  • Read and understand technical documents.
  • Read piping and instrumentation diagrams and single-line wiring diagrams.
  • Use strong computer and technical skills.
  • Operate and monitor manual and highly automated process equipment.
  • Use analytical and troubleshooting skills to solve operational and technical problems.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Be willing to work overtime when required.
  • Meet the physical demands of the role.
  • Lift up to 25 kilograms.
  • Climb ladders and stairs.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
