Description

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly facility. The job includes routine and deep cleaning across all work areas. This role involves floor care, waste removal, restroom servicing, and general cleaning of surfaces, fixtures, and equipment. It also includes preparing cleaning solutions, restocking supplies, and operating power floor-cleaning equipment as needed. The Janitor may perform other duties to support overall facility upkeep.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Sweep and wash floors. Deep clean and power scrub all floors.
  • Buff and shine floors as needed.
  • Gather and empty trash from offices, lunchrooms, restrooms, and common areas. Dispose of garbage.
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Clean inside windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
  • Dust furniture, plants, walls, machines, equipment, countertops, desks, and telephones.
  • Wipe down fingerprints and chair bases as needed.
  • Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
  • Request supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Clean all stairwells.
  • Wash walls as needed.
  • Clean microwaves and fridges.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Operate power floor-cleaning equipment.

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to understand and communicate detailed instructions, both written and oral.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend and crouch.
  • Strong motivation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Previous janitorial experience is considered an asset.
